Artwork
Sometimes, I have to applaud my towns-council, they come up with great ideas.
This piece of art was made by a graffiti artist,
hired by the town to do his magic there where history lies.
This was made on an electricity-box-thingy, which stands near an old rail track.
I do not know the exact history, but a long long time ago,
there used to be a train route from my home town to a town called Dokkum.
The train would pass some wetlands, which is where I live now…
Most of the railroad is still there, rusty and not “trainable” anymore,
but always remembered fondly by the old folks.
In dedication to this rail track, also called the Dokkumer-lokaaltje,
the council let the artist paint a historical train.
So yes, I applaud the council for this…
But stay tuned, because one of these days I will post a daily of another piece of art,
funded by the council: costs $ 126,692!!!
When I saw that...I declared them utterly nuts!
