Open dag Vliegbasis Leeuwarden 2008 (Flying big birds) : Open house at the Royal Dutch Air force Base 2008
(Official Royal Netherlands Air force but that just doesn't sound right)

Never could understand what the hectic was all about: Airplanes Spotters!

Well today I realized what it is all about.

You know how fast those buggers are?

What a challenge to get one shot that is sharp, clear and fun to look at.
I had the time of my life, many professional photographers sharing their knowledge,
giving tips and tricks in how to set my camera, all to get just the right shot.
Well I didn’t succeed but for a “spotter” in training these are not bad.
I just need to remember that exposure is necessary here…all my photo’s were a bit too dark :)
so had to auto expose them here and there.

A great way to learn to shoot moving objects, that I can tell you!

Visserijdagen Urk 2008 : Visserijdagen Urk 2008.

A collection of my day in Urk.

Once or twice a year, the harbor towns in the Netherlands organize a meet and greet day.
Here you can meet the sailors, their wives, step on the boats,
enjoy the music (sea shanties) the foods and like today the weather.

P.s. all the gentlemen and ladies are wearing traditional clothing.
Often you may see "the traditional villagers" wear them on a daily basis.

BTW I had to retouch the photos due to poor lack of knowhow from my side;
the sun was strong and they truned out very hazy.

And I just saw I made a sloppy job out of it :(
